Ten months after developing The Brain & Stroke Network to improve stroke care in San Antonio and South Texas, Baptist Health System has earned Primary Stroke Center Certification at each of its five hospitals, effective June 8.

The Baptist Cancer Center is offering FREE gentle Hatha style yoga classes for cancer patients and cancer survivors on Friday mornings at 10 am. The classes are FREE and open to the general public. A reunion of bariatric surgery patients from Northeast Baptist Bariatric Center gathered for the 2nd Annual Fiesta Style Show. Among the former patients were husband and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Ramirez who together have lossed over 280 pounds.

Baptist Health System is a proud supporter of National Start! Walking Day which kicked off in April. Sponsored by the American Heart Association, the event encourages everyone to walk more, whether it’s during breaks at work, or hiking at a local park.

With the height of the flu season upon us and the common cold virus insiduously spreading, keeping germs at bay can be a vigilant task. Another serious type of germ is the Staph germ which can also be easily spread and can cause Methicillin-Resistant Staph Infection (MRSA), a bacterial infection that is resistant to some antibiotics.

The ostomy support group is here for patients who have had or will have an intestinal or urinary diversions including urostomy, cystectomy, colostomy and ileostomy.
